Causeway Watersports came to TOMIS at the start of 2025 with a clear opportunity: their business had strong word-of-mouth and local visibility, but their digital marketing infrastructure was essentially untapped. Google Ads were minimal and underperforming, Meta Ads were nonexistent, and their website wasn't converting traffic at its potential.

TOMIS built their paid advertising program from the ground up. Google Ads campaigns were architected around high-intent search demand for Outer Banks watersports — targeting travelers actively searching for jet ski rentals, kayak tours, and parasailing in the OBX market. Campaign structure, bidding strategy, and creative were all built specifically for a coastal rental and tour operator with strong seasonal peaks.

On paid social, TOMIS launched Causeway's first-ever Meta Ads program, reaching drive-market travelers across the mid-Atlantic with visually compelling creative designed to capture aspiration and drive bookings. Audience targeting was built around geographic proximity, travel intent signals, and interest in beach and watersports activities.

The strategy was paired with the TOMIS AI ChatBot that engaged site visitors, answered common rental and booking questions, and converted browsing traffic into confirmed reservations around the clock.

The combined impact of a first-year paid media launch, and AI-assisted conversion delivered transformational results across every key metric in 2025.

Google Ads delivered a 10x return on ad spend — Causeway's first full year of managed paid search investment. Ad clicks grew 938% year-over-year, impressions scaled from 89,000 to 866,000, and paid search revenue grew from $11,000 to over $143,000 — a 1,152% increase driven by campaigns built specifically for how travelers search in the OBX market.

Meta Ads generated a 23x ROAS in their debut season — 161 purchases attributed directly to paid social, with $51,000 in revenue driven from just $2,200 in ad spend. The first-year results signal significant room to scale as creative, audience, and budget strategies mature.

Total online revenue grew 132% year-over-year, climbing from $239,000 to $555,000. Online purchases grew 147%, from 697 to 1,723 transactions. Website sessions more than tripled, rising 208% from 27,000 to nearly 84,000 — reflecting the combined impact of paid media, organic search growth, and broader brand visibility across channels.
